When I start working with a new coaching client, I always make sure that the plan we craft together is SUSTAINABLE and something they can stick to. ๐ก
๐ย Donโt be like this coach:
Obese guy: โHey I really need help losing this weight, I weigh 300lbs, have never touched a weight in my life and I have terrible problems with craving food.โ
Bad coach: โHey man donโt worry Iโll help you, first off lets have you hit the gym 6 days a week, with a morning cardio everyday. Then weโll cut down your calories to 2000/day, throw out all your junk food at home. By the way, you are only allowed to buy organic grass-fed steak. Also, donโt forget to take a cold shower every morning and finish with some meditations at night. Thatโll be $3000 please.โ
This is of course an exaggerated example, but I know this phenomenon is super common. How are you gonna help this guy lose weight by this formula when he barely even knows what a gym is? ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Sustainability is key. I work with creating realistic and sustainable habits, and gradually increasing the level of effort over time. That way the client can actually stick to their goals and plans without wanting to give up a week in. ๐
